Drops Nord Print: multicolour yarn made of alpaca, wool and polyamide
Drops Nord Print belongs to the Nord range from Drops. It is made of 45% alpaca, 30% polyamide and 25% wool. Alpaca gives the fabric softness, wool adds warmth and polyamide brings strength and durability where the knitting wears most. The Print version is multicolour: the colours change along the strand, so the pattern appears while you knit or crochet.

What to make with it
Nord Print suits everyday warm clothing: socks, hats, gloves, scarves and light sweaters. As a group A yarn it can also be used for Drops patterns designed for Alpaca, Baby Merino, Fabel or Flora. Before a bigger project, knit a swatch and check your tension.
How to choose a colour
With multicolour yarn the final pattern changes with the number of stitches and the width of the fabric. It is best to buy all balls at once and, for bigger projects, alternate two balls every few rows. The colourways range from calm greys and beiges to strong blue, green and orange combinations. The photos show both the yarn detail and a knitted sample.
Caring for the finished piece
Hand wash at a maximum of 30 °C with a wool detergent and dry flat, never in a tumble dryer. For Nord the manufacturer does not state that the yarn is feltable, so treat it gently like any wool.
Frequently asked questions
Is Nord Print suitable for socks? It is a group A yarn (4 ply) with polyamide that adds strength, so it works well for socks as well as hats and gloves.
Which needles should I use? 3 mm is recommended, but always follow your own swatch.
How many balls do I need? Check the pattern you are following. It is safer to add one extra ball, because the colour transition may not match exactly between balls.
